Pre-Design
There are two important steps that need to take place before we begin designing:
Documenting the existing conditions: We establish a clear picture of the site we’re starting with – its size, features, zoning regulations, and any other special conditions. The goal is an understanding of the the existing site’s physical characteristics, cultural and historical context, and regulatory setting.
Programming: We develop a detailed description of the owners’ goals. More than just a list of rooms and sizes, it will include relationships between spaces, characters of the spaces, style, context, and the atmosphere the owners want to achieve.
