SOMERVILLE

We renovated this two family house in Somerville, adding forms on top to create new living space on the third floor: a master suite, a child's bedroom suite, and a sun filled sitting area.

Rather than trying to seamlessly blend with the existing house, the additions are in a more modern style: three boxes clad in three different materials.

An existing storage shed behind the house was given a similar treatment, refurbished with durable metal siding like one of the rooftop volumes.
